Seagate and WD working to extend their HDD capabilities. I've been out of touch with HDD advances lately, then I read about the way both companies are expanding their capabilities with 3-D, heat, and Helium.  18 TB and 20TB on a single 3.5" drive.  That is insane.  You will pretty much need to be a VAR or SAN manufacturer to get one of these, so I wonder when and how long it will take to get down  to the consumer or SMB level.
